Music has been a part of my life since I began playing the violin as a child. After leaving a career as a music teacher to become a childbirth educator and birth doula, I am excited to be back making music again! It is my philosophy that music is not just for listening to, it is for experiencing and sharing. In Music Play classes, we create an environment for children to experiment, move their bodies, engage with each other, and share in the songs and games we offer them.
Music Play Classes are offered for 3 age groups:
Music Play Baby for 0-12 months, Tuesdays 11:30-12:15: A gentle class that flows with their needs as they come. Parents are encouraged to engage with their babies, sing, play, and move as they learn games and songs they can use to play at home.
Music Play Toddler for 12-36 months, Tuesdays 1:00-1:45: A more movement based class that meets the children where they are that day! We provide options for instruments, scarves and movement so the children can experiment and play in a way that inspires curiosity and fun.
Music Play Preschool for 2.5-4 year olds (stay tuned for times): This is an adaptive music class that brings a little more structure to the experience, while still leaving space for experimentation, play and joy!
All classes are focused around community and fun, while building a music and movement vocabulary that is developmentally appropriate. You have the option to drop in for $10 or get a 6 week pass for $50.
